First day for me at Yakumo
I'm not techically working yet, but I'm going to observe the classes that I will be working at. I decided that I won't teach first period on any day since I live so far away and it's difficult for me to make it there on time. I get up at 5:30am to get to school by 8:30am, that's really early. Today, I stayed from 8:50am-6pm. That's a really long day don't you think, but actually that's shorter than most of the other full-time teachers.
I went to first period to watch CP, the other native English Teacher. Then I followed her around all day. I got to see how the class is ran with 3 teachers. Usually it would have been with only two, but now they have to find a way to work me into the syllabus. We will figure something out I'm sure. The 7th grade class was playing a counting activity where they were to count beans, it was actually the first time I really participated in the class. Most of the classes I stayed in the class just to observe.
But in CTshi class, she invited me to help out. She's a really good teacher and very friendly. I think she's probably one of the better English teachers at the school. Her English sounds very native. CP had to stay after school because she was doing something with the English Club. We just played the game of life, which was pretty good. I informed them that I would be coming back a few days this week.
