Meeting TTki's Friend's sister

I woke up in the afternoon again. It's starting to become a pretty bad habit. But I think it's still acceptable. Today I decided I should do some laundry. It was kinda weird because as I was walking over to TTki's house, it was warm enough that I was wearing a t-shirt and shorts, but still cold. MTki was cooking dinner for the family and also doing some laundry. So I dropped in the clothes to wash and then came back to my apt to do some cleaning of my own. I vaccumed the place because it really needed to be cleaned out. I still have much to clean too before RWd comes in a few days. So when I went over to pick up my clothes. Their family had arrived and was looking at some guy they have never met before in a t-shirt and shorts. They were kinda surprised because the whole family was sitting there staring at me. Then I went to pick up my clothes, but HTki was taking a shower, and had finished at the same time I was in the laundry room. They are sort of connected so he walked out and said good morning to me. Quite an awkward situation.

Then I came back to my place, finished cleaning, accepted a nice dinner from MTki, and started to get ready to go with TTki to his friend's house. I had received a HUGE stack of new year cards, but only to find that it wasn't for me. It was for the people who lived here before. What a shame. So I gave them to HTki and he took care of it. We all jumped into the car and off we went.

The trip took about 30 minutes by car and I have no idea how I would get there if I had to take a train and walk. It was a nice house about 2 stories surrounded by cherry blossom trees. It was awkward at the beginning because TTki's friend Mto, was very straightforward. But I guess he's that way because he is studying in New York. His English is fairly good, and so was the rest of his family. Which I think adds a lot of pressure to the younger sister. I think that would be part of the reason why she struggles with it. She's being coached by her uncle who coaches professional adults with English. Her mother studied in England for a year when she was younger, and her father works in the United States. Her older brother is studying in New York. I don't blame her for not being able to speak, and I realize that none of her family members realize why either.

I was starving at this point, even though there was food on the table, because all of them were asking me questions so see if I could advise Miki on her English. It was very Japanese style of interview. I really could see and understand the process by which Japanese people conduct business. All I did was sit and be patient, which I'm sure was probably very difficult for them to manuever any tricks on me. I walked in with set items to be accomplished and the price I would charge and I walked out with what I wanted, without doing any barginning or anything. I really left the house happy and felt like I could teach her. They aren't expecting improvements by leaps and bounds since I'm only meeting once or twice a month. But that opens an opportunity to release my best teaching techiniques and work with her in a way that she would improve a lot. The dinner was good, and quiet too. The focus was taken off of TTki because it was also his first time to meet his best friend's family. They took care of business first, then I handed Miki her homework and preliminary lesson plans. They were surprised, and I think they couldn't figure out why I asked such weird questions. But there's a reason why I asked, and it will come to show later.

Overall it was fun, TTki was going to go to a Sento afterwards with his friend, and I figured I had seen enough male nudity for one day, so I decided to pass. I then came home and then put together my lesson plans for the semester starting with the seniors and their electives. It's weird that I'm working on my vacation time, but I realize that it will be most beneficial for me to be prepared ahead of time, so I would be able to leverage my time later to doing more private lessons. I had completed one of my games for the seniors that I will probably use for many of my other classes.

Recently I have had the song "I will be your friend" by Coco Lee stuck in my head. But the thing is, I haven't heard it in over a year. I don't know why it just came along, but it's stuck there. It's hard to download too because of the poor tracks that I get.
