Shinjuku Tour
Our only destination today was Shinjuku because I had to get back early. Work starts tomorrow and I would like to get enough rest and prepare my lessons. We once again woke up late, again around noon. But this was because we had walked a lot in the past few days and I'm sure he's tired as hell. hehe. We decided to walk to Hongodai station and I told him that would should try the speciality hamburgers at McDonalds. He ordered the McGrand, and Teriyaki Burger. He liked them both. They aren't really the specialty items, but for some reason they didn't sell them at this location. I told him to order in Japanese, but the lady taking the order could speak English and spoke English because I suppose he was doing a bad job. We had noticed from the McDonalds that there were people dressed in the kimonos for Coming of Age Day. So that was pretty cool to see.
After that, we continued on our way to get to Shinjuku. We jumped a couple of trains before we got there. We took a fairly scenic route. We started from the south exit going towards the main area where the studio alta is, and then taking a deeper look into the Kabuki-cho. I showed him a few more things, while we were being asked if we wanted a sex massage from dirty old pimps trying to pitch for their girls. It was amuzing though. We walked around a little more till we got to the Takashimaya Times Square and decided to look for the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly Building. It's got a great view of Tokyo and you could even see Mt. Fuji. Best of all it was free, which we didn't think would be open because of the holiday. It was awesome, the sun was just setting as we were looking at Mt. Fuji. We stayed there for a little while before we decided to go back home. We got back to Shinjuku station really quick and started searching for something to eat. We walked around aimlessly, and then decided to start going back to home and see if we run into something we like.
We ended up back at Shibuya going in a different direction than we did before. And since we were getting to the point of really getting hungry, we ended up at a shop that was similar to Yoshinoya. Which was a surprise we didn't go there since there are 5 of them within walking distance of the station. But I like Yoshinoya a little better, but I think this store offered a bit more for a cheaper price.
Then after that we started back on our way home. It was much better today. We didn't have to deal with the freezing cold. When we got home, we just talked for a long while. I was waiting for my show to come on, but it never did. I didn't end up going to sleep till around 3am, which wasn't good since I get up at 6:30am. And I have the most classes of the week on Tuesday. And 4 out of 5 are my lessons that I'm in charge of for the first time. So I had a lot of pressure on me. I couldn't sleep very well either. I hate when that happens.
