Recitation Contest

So I had to get up early to go to school to judge for the recitation contest. The contest itself was pretty good. The students did very well, I believe. I’m finally glad that I don’t have to listen to them practice anymore, that’s something really good for me since that’s all I’ve been hearing from them. Now we can get started on really learning English.

Afterwards, I stayed around school for a little bit. I heard news that my high school basketball team, well the one that I’m teaching at had beaten the top ranked team in Tokyo. They advanced in the Kanto area competition. They had beaten the defending champions of the tournament.

Then I came home and made myself some dinner. I actually cooked starting from scratch and it actually wasn’t very bad. I wouldn’t say it’s delicious either, but something that is edible at least. So I was happy about that. I’m finally getting back to making healthier food and I think that I will begin to make more food for myself now.

Then later, I received a call from one of the teachers at my school and she informed me that the team had won the second game and will advance into tomorrow’s competition. So she told me the information about that and I have to decide what I’m going to do. I’m sure that I should go because it’s a big opportunity for them to really get high up there. I think they are in the top 8 now in the Kanto area, which is a BIG thing. So I’ll write more about that later. Since the original plan was to go fishing with EK at about the same time.
