Gone to Ikebukuro
Since I slept late today, I had to bare the wrath of the scorching heat trying to get some rest. I only got about 4 hours of sleep before I couldn’t handle the heat anymore. It was much hotter today that it’s been all week. It was supposed to rain today according to the forecast of Monday, but I guess it was wrong. Today, of course, they changed the forecast. Those punks at Yahoo weather, the nerve they have to post the wrong weather. But that’s ok, since that’s usual and Japan’s weather is unusual anyways.
I received the package my family sent me and the weather turned out to be much cooler around 2-3pm. That’s a nice change since I’ll have to walk outside in the hot scorching weather and get some food later too. It’s more pleasant to go out of the house when the sun isn’t going to kill me with the heat. I actually don’t like staying indoors too much since I’m in a new country, I should go out and explore.
I’m going to Ikebukuro to meet my friend and have tea and possibly dinner. It should be fun since I haven’t been to Ikebukuro for a long time and since that’s where she lives, it should be good. She was worried about the safety of being out late, which is something that she should be concerned about, but since she works till late, that’s another issue we have to deal with.
It didn’t take me too long to get there and I arrived at Ikebukuro station a bit early. I was waiting for my friend, but I wasn’t in the right area. Her e-mail made the area we were supposed to meet, something of a code that I had to crack in order for me to be in the right place. It turns out that I was able to find the right place and waited for her for about 30 minutes. I got lucky that I spotted her when she passed by since there is an incredibly lot of people there. We were right out front of the Seibu Ikebukuro station across the street from Matsumoto Kiyoshi. We started to head in that direction to get something to drink like tea or something. I should have known that it would only be a drink that we’d buy and no food.
I think that since she had just moved here and only started work for about a week, she hadn’t been paid yet, so she didn’t seem to have the cash to get something to eat. But I’m not sure if it was that since she’s always worried about her weight, which is something that she really doesn’t need to worry about. I think that she’s actually lost some weight since I’ve seen her in San Diego, but girls always worry about that and they really shouldn’t because it leads them to do things that aren’t healthy.
We sat at the Doutor for a few hours just talking about how her work has been going and a little about what I’ve been up to since I’m now on vacation. She thought that I had already gone to Okinawa, but I haven’t yet. She seems like she preoccupied with something and it could be that she’s been thinking about her boyfriend a lot. She was at a point considering marrying him, but now she’s considering to break up with him because he seems to be flirting around with other girls. I never understand those people like that. They will never be happy because they can’t be happy with things or people that they already have and are with. Anyways, I don’t know the details about their relationship, although I haven’t heard many good things about the guy from anyone. But I’m just here for support and give a perspective from the outside. I think that she appreciates it and since we are sort of in the same boat about what we want to do and what we want to achieve.
After that, we took a walk around the block to find Sunshine city, but by the time we arrived, everything was already closed. I’m not sure what’s really in the place since I haven’t been there in a long time. I know that I’ve been there before, so it probably wasn’t anything important that I missed. I enjoyed tonight even though it seemed a bit short. I think that I was only there for about 2 hours even though it would take 4 to go there and to get back. It’s still nice to meet with friends that I don’t get a chance to meet with so often.
