DYchi's Farewell party

I got up around noon today, which is really late and since it was hot again, that’s a surprise. I think I’ve really gotten used to the weather and the sun because last year, I was awake much earlier.

I did laundry today. When I went to go pick it up, I saw a snake right outside of my door. That was nice and now I’m glad that I live on the second floor. I heard that there are snakes around my area, but I didn’t think that they would be that close to my house.

I also took the time to clean up the apartment again. It has gotten dirty since YSki’s trip. Not saying she’s the cause, because she’s not, but there have been more lint than usual, so I wanted to tidy up a bit. I only ate a little today. I should have eaten more, but I didn’t want to eat up my supply of food that I have at my place. So I just had one piece of something instead of having two, which would have been normal

Then I started to get addicted to the computer again. I was reading a bunch of news about what’s going on in the U.S.

Then I got my haircut, it was difficult because the clippers didn’t work as well today as they have been usually. But I still finished, it’s not the best work I’ve done, but it’s also not noticeably bad either.

Then I left my house to go to Yokohama station. We always meet up at Mores department store, I guess that’s a popular place to meet people. I arrived 2 minutes early and was the second person there. One more person came at 8pm on the dot. And the rest, well they were late, fashionably late to the tune of at least 20 minutes and some even after that.

We went to an Okinawan restaurant. The food was pretty good, I mean it wasn’t great, but not horrible either. They have everyone free beer, but it was Orion beer from Asahi. Not many people in our group drink beer, so we just used it to toast. Then we started talking to each other and stuff.

Other people started to show up, I mean there were two others that come around 9 and 9:30pm. It was much like an izakaya because no matter what you eat, it won’t be enough. So for most of the night, I was still hungry, but since there were 3 Americans there, we had to order my food since it wasn’t nearly enough for all of us. The desert was very good though. I had macadamia nut ice cream. We then gave DYchi his gift and he enjoyed it. It was a big bowl from Sogo. It seems very common for people to give bowls, or cups, or things of that nature.

We didn’t end up leaving till around 11pm and we didn’t get on the trains till 11:40pm, which is very late.

I got home and took another shower since I was all sweaty from the 40 minute walk home. I just need to be clean before I could go to sleep. Then I typed this entry up. I just wanted to add the fact that I almost stepped on the snake today wearing sandals. It was a reddish color, but a small one. It was more afraid of me, so it ran off quite suddenly, that’s how I noticed it in the first place.
