Last day of tennis practice for the summer

Today was the last day of tennis practice for me for this summer. They have one more before their tournament on Sunday, tomorrow, but I won’t be going to that one. I was really tired today. It was really hot for me, even though it wasn’t that hot today. I think it’s because I changed my beverage choice for the tennis practice and that really influenced how I played. I really felt thirsty the whole time and that was because I switched from Aquarius to Gatorade. But now I know not to do that anymore. I almost felt like I was going to pass out or something. I really didn’t feel good, but I kept with it and drank a lot of water after that. I knew that I was getting dehydrated, so I did my best to get water into the body.

Fortunately for me, today’s practice was different. Usually, it’s been only forehands and backhands and only drills, but today, we did a lot more. I had suggested to the coach yesterday that I noticed that the students’ game play really weren’t that great and it’s because they didn’t practice any other game strokes. It really showed today that they don’t know how to play a game because they couldn’t get their feet in the right position for the best shot and their shots are wild and aimless. So today’s practice consisted of more playing strokes like volleys, serving and returning. They did forehands and backhands to start with and they even played a rotation game that I think helped with their doubles game play. I’m glad that he listened to my advice because the other teachers that are actually the coaches for the team also suggested it, but the head coach didn’t make a move on it. I only mentioned it because I’d like to see the girls win the top 3 places for the tournament on Sunday. Right now, we have one doubles pair that is seeded first, so they are likely to win the tournament, but I’d like to get the other girls up on the podium too. I don’t think that we’d sweep all three, but I think there’s a possibility that we might get another pair to be there. They just need to improve on a few things first.

I left school with my English department chair today, and gave her a gift from Thailand which was a bag of Thai tea. She said she loves Thai tea, so that was music to my ears.

I went to the supermarket to get dinner tonight. Since there was a little nuisance that bothered me yesterday, I thought it would smarter for me to just eat at home.

After I had finished dinner and taken a shower, I pretty much just checked email for a little bit and then just died of fatigue. Today had been pretty tough for me physically. I think the weather is really starting to affect me a lot.
