English Fun Fair and YOKE's symposium

I think that today went very smooth and was very good. I didn’t see much of a problem today. I got up a bit late, but still arrived at work a bit early. I think that’s a bit weird, but that was beside the point. I had enough time to get something to eat and to eat it before all the real work began. I thought I wouldn’t have enough time to eat this morning, but I got lucky and found some time. I was working in a special room today, one that parents and students would be joining all the time. It was a rotating room, so that the main students would be in high school in the 10th grade speaking with two native teachers. We didn’t know how many parents and their daughters would come, so I was the backup if the other two couldn’t handle having too many students. They did all the work and I just helped out. So I ended up not doing too much. The high school students that went into the groups were pretty interesting and some of them are new to the school, so they have never experienced what an English Fun Fair is. I think that was a good experience for them to have. I did this till it hit around noon. Then I helped out to clean up, and I was gone. I left school rather early, but still later than I expected. Since I wasn’t going to be going to Taiwan until tomorrow, I had more time and another plan to meet up with something that I’ve been working on all year.

I left the school and soon found myself at the Motomachi-Chukagai station. I believe that is the closest station to where the symposium would be held. I went straight there and started working right away. I didn’t have anything to do though since they were all finished setting up and the symposium already started. It was cool to be hanging out outside and talking with the members of the Red Shoes. I think that at this point, my Japanese ability was at its highest it’s ever been. I could converse quite easily and they could understand and I could understand too. It was great. I saw the girl that I thought was amazingly beautiful and talked to her for a little while. She was surely pretty and I think that it was good to meet her again. I was lucky that I had this second chance to even meet her since I should have been in Taiwan already.

I did some prep work for the after symposium party. We set everything up and then the party started. It was pretty good, but nothing different from usual. It was like when I came to Japan on this exchange. I felt really happy that it was all coming together. There was talk at this event that the red shoes would break up because the members or mainly the leaders didn’t like working with YOKE. It was a bit sad since we wouldn’t be working with each other anymore, but it was good that it finished well.

After the party finished, we cleaned some things up and stayed after to talk a bit more until all the delegates left back with their host family. We went around to Café Veloce to get some coffee afterwards and this would probably be the last time we’d be working together. We took some pictures and then we parted ways. I had to get home in a hurry because I needed to finish packing for tomorrow’s trip to Taiwan. I was really on a high today too.
