Tokyo Tour
We started out late in the afternoon because we like to sleep in. We didn't even get up till noonish. Then getting ready and other things. Right from the start, I pushed him to call his people so he could make appointments so I wouldn't have to take care of this trip the whole time. Therefore he could get a better idea of what he wanted to do. So he did that today, and we were actually going to meet them today.
We took the bus to Totsuka station, and stopped to eat lunch or breakfast at MOS burger. I made him order in Japanese and made him go first too. He did an ok job, considering he's been through a year and a half of Japanese classes. They really don't prepare you for the practical things. That's a sad thing I believe. I wished they did, I think many people would be better off than they are now. We took a while to eat lunch and just watching people. I was letting him sink in the idea that he was in Japan.
As we left the store to go to Totsuka station, I ran into a couple of friends of mine from the San Diego - Yokohama sister city society. Turns out that she lived in Totsuka-ku. It's a small world after all. So we jumped on the tokaido line to head for Tokyo station. We were going to meet his friends Kristen and her sister Diana. These are people that he met on the plane flying over to Japan. Kristen is only a 15 year old girl too. Kinda weird that she would be flying to Japan alone to visit her sister. I feel, I'm not sure if that's usual or not.
We walked from Tokyo station to Yurakucho station where we would meet the girls at Bic Camera. We took another little stroll to the Imperial Palace. It was very windy, and now I know why they call it wind chill. It was soooooo cold because of the wind. It was really ridiculous how cold it was. We just walked around there for a little bit, then we hopped on the Tokyo Metro to get to Roppongi. We went to Roppongi Hills to look at the shops. It wasn't that interesting since I've been there a few times already and it's lost it's luster for me. We went into TV asahi, which was ok. I took another picture with Doraemon, but with RWd this time.
From here they were starting to get hungry so we went back to Roppongi station and we all split up. The girls would go home and get some thing to eat, while we decided to go to Shibuya. Half way, we decided to jump off at Ebisu and go looking around there. There really wasn't that much, which was to my surprise. There was a mall which we went to and to the restaurant floor. We ended up at a Chinese Restaurant. He couldn't finish his ramen, and I had finished up my Fried Rice. It was pretty good, and reminded me of my mom's cooking, just not as spicy as my mother's which would have made it nicer.
Then we jumped back on the Yamanote to Harajuku. We took a walk down Takeshita street to look at all the stores on the street and in the area. Then we went to the "Goth" hang out place, but no one was there. Kinda sad that we missed the goth appearances. But I'm sure he will get a chance to go back and see them. We walked to Shibuya from here too. It wasn't that bad, and I was able to figure out which direction it was. We strolled around and I showed him the "bad" areas and the "entertaining" areas of the city. It was quite interesting and pretty funny. After that, we decided to go home since it was getting pretty late.
