May Day
I had to get up really early today because I had to meet my teacher friends in Shinjuku. It wasn’t that far of a location to meet up since that’s where we will be seeing the movie. The plan for today is to catch a movie with some of my lady friend teachers. We will go watch Constantine, which is the new Keanu Reeves movie. Since the first of the month is Movie day, which means there’s a discount for everyone at around $10 a person. Which doesn’t sound like much of a discount in the U.S. but that’s half off here. So that’s a really good deal. I think that it’s interesting that I would take a 2.5 hour train to watch a 2 hour movie, sounds a bit strange. But it was good that I could hang out with teachers and enjoy a movie. The movie wasn’t the best, but it wasn’t bad either. It was so-so and a bit cheesy. But I’m just happy that I was able to see a movie. The showing was at 2pm and we got out about 4pmish.
After the movie, we all went to a nice little cafĂ© to get some tea and eat some desserts. I ordered a parfait and the other teachers had a tea and cake set. I didn’t get a tea because it didn’t come in the set, which made me the odd one out. But it didn’t matter since I was already the odd one out. The parfait was really good and it was very enjoyable. Mrs. Had gave me a gift because I had given her a wedding gift. It was a very nice Burberry Handkerchief, which seems to be the standard gift giving here at the school. So I was happy when I went home. The ride home was longer than I had expected, but it wasn’t too bad. I just enjoyed the tunes as I was going home. When I got home, I just chilled again, in front of my laptop.
