Star Wars Episode 3: Round Two

Today, I woke up early and then fell back asleep. I sent an email to another teacher that I was going to meet today to ask when we should meet. She wanted to meet at 11:45am to see a 12:30pm showing at Shinjuku Plaza. Since I went back to sleep, I didn’t get up again till 9:30am. So I only had a few minutes to get ready and leave to get to the meeting place at the meeting time. I don’t know how it happened, but everything seemed to work for me today so I got there on time.

I caught all the right trains and everything, so I was pretty stoked about that. We went around Shinjuku for a little while to look for a discount ticket to see a movie. But the places we went to didn’t have it for the showing and for the theater that we wanted to go to. So we just went straight to the theater and they offered their own discounts for certain cards. MKni had a JTB card so she got a 200 yen discount and I had my Grossmont college card so I had a 300 yen discount.

I think the movie was pretty good the second time around. I didn’t get bored at the parts where I got bored the first time I saw it. It was still good and made more sense too.

After the movie, we got a bite to eat at Lotteria, which is right outside. We talked for a few more hours there about everything and pretty much talking about school. The next semester will be pretty difficult for all the teachers because it’s really jam packed with many many events that will distract the students as well as the teachers to prepare for and to do.

After we talked for a bit, another teacher invited us to a Jazz concert in Ebisu. MKni had to go home to prepare dinner, so it was just me who went there. The group that we saw was called quasi mode and they just played Jazz music. I thought they were pretty good, but what do I know about Jazz music. So I’m not a really good judge. They had a good group of people watching, but it wasn’t that much. It was in the middle of the restaurant / bar type of place. It was held at Yebisu Garden Place in the Glass Square.

After we saw the concert, we left to get some dinner at Ototo. CHda really likes white rice and recommended this place for us to go to. We had many things to eat with rice. We got rice set with miso soup, and tofu, and chicken and a mixture of other things. It wasn’t too bad, but wasn’t as good as she made it out to be. She’s very proud of Japanese food, so I didn’t want to make any bad comments about it. I enjoyed it though, not to say that I didn’t like it. But it just wasn’t as good as she made it out to be. We had a pretty good conversation too. I found out her real age, and she’s older than what I thought or what she told me last. I was a bit shocked to hear that she’s 5 years older than I was. She looks so young.

We ended up leaving around 9pmish. We jumped on the train together and didn’t part ways until she got to her station at Omori. It was a bit out of the way that I wanted to take, but I didn’t mind. I consider her one of my best friends at work, so it’s worth it. I ended up changing lines to get on the Tokaido line because I thought it would be faster. I ended up getting home around 11:30pm. And I’m typing this now at , well it’s almost 1am. I’m a bit tired and a little beat, so I’d like to get some sleep. Tomorrow I have a party to go to and I think in the morning I’ll finish this entry as well as others in recent weeks.
