Costco and wedding

I kinda forgot about the wedding that I have to go to today. That really wasn’t good since it’s very important and I’ve known about it for a long time. But I couldn’t get out of going to Costco because MTki invited a lot of her friends to come over so we could all go together. So I felt really bad about that since it was my fault. But we managed to be able to do both. But they had only a limited time to go shopping, but I think that was fine since we finished early anyways. I had forgotten to take my camera with me because I had promised some students for some prints, but I was just loading them on my computer at the time and just left in a hurry and didn’t pick it up on the way out. I wanted to add them on my computer because I’d be going to a traditional style Japanese wedding today.

The wedding was very nice. They had a large room with about 300-400 people. That’s a lot of people and it was very nice. The dinner was delicious too. It was at a nice fancy hotel in Shinagawa. I met up with another teacher that would be going to the wedding at the station and she helped me get a card for the bride and groom and I signed it and inserted the money in the envelope. I gave about $200 since I was a very close friend and just a co-worker. We had become friends since we started working at the school at the same time. It was very lavish and there were many things to see and they changed their clothes a lot. It was a bit different than the Honda’s wedding in March. I sat with a bunch of teachers from my school and they were delightful too.

I met a lot of the bride’s friends who all happen to speak English too. I thought that was pretty cool. I ended up going to the second party after the wedding reception since all of the teachers I was sitting with urged me to go. The reason why is that all of the female teachers I was with are all married or have fiancés. So that really put the pressure on me since I don’t even have a girlfriend. Before I had decided that it was in my best interest not to get involved with anyone because, for one, I cherish my freedom, for two, I don’t have the time (lame excuse), for three, there’s just no one there… (also lame excuse) but the main reason is that I just don’t want one at this moment in time, or I would have done something about it. And that’s the truth. Something is keeping me from getting involved and I really can’t put my finger on the reason why.

The second party was more relaxed and it was on the 30th floor of the Pacific Hotel in Shinagawa. Very nice location if you ask me. It’s 3am and I’m typing this right now, so I think I’m going to try to get some sleep and hopefully find the time to get more written up later.
