Fujisawa Mall and Yamada Denki
I woke up a bit late I think. I didn’t get up till around 9:30am, which is good since I was tired as hell getting home around 1am and not sleeping till around 3am typing last night’s entry. I woke up a bit sore too, and my back has been giving me some troubles too.
At 11:30am, I was going to go with MTki to a new shopping mall in the Fujisawa area. I’m not sure exactly where it is, but since I didn’t have anything else to do today, I thought I’d be up for it.
At first we got lunch at a kaiten-zushi, or a sushi place with the conveyor belts. I had eaten a little breakfast before I went, so I couldn’t really eat that much. It was good though and the key that I learned is to not pick up the ones on the conveyor belt, but to actually order it fresh and then pick it up from the belt. It’s actually a good idea, but I think it takes away from the effect of going to that kind of place.
Then we went shopping for about an hour. I wasn’t very interested in the 100 yen store since I didn’t need to buy anything, but I did get pretty excited about the Technology store there. Since they had a nice big display for cell phones, which I happen to be looking for, so that was a big help to me. I got some mail today before I left that let me know that Vodafone has new models, which meant that the other companies will release their new versions too. I’m definitely going to leave Vodafone since none of their new phones have impressed me. Something that really caught my attention though was AU by KDDI. I think they actually have some of the best phones on the market. It’s the 2nd ranking phone company in Japan, 2nd to DoCoMo, which I’m also considering buying too. DoCoMo has a really nice new phone too that I’m really impressed with. It’s the M1000, not really cool name, but it has cool features.
I want a phone that will go well with my new laptop that I’m thinking about buying soon. I think I might switch to another laptop that I’m looking at now. At first I wanted to Sony Vaio Type S, but I’m more interested in the Type T now. It’s much smaller, and the only complaint that I’ve really heard is that it’s too small and typing becomes a bitch later on. But it’s an ultra portable so it’s very very light and supposed to be small. It’s got a powerful package and the newest models look very sleek and it’s impressive. The battery life is averaged from 4-9 hours, which is damn good for a standard battery. Although I think I’ll buy the extended one anyways. I think I’m going to trick it all out so I won’t have to buy another laptop for a very very long time. I think that I want something powerful enough to last me into the next decade, which is only 5 years, but I hope it’ll work for much longer. I could always buy another laptop to connect it with the USB port anyways, so I’m not worried about that.
By this time, I had gotten a call and needed to leave.
Then I went for little walk to find a place to print out some photos of the wedding yesterday and some pictures for some students that asked me to for the sports festival.
I then went shopping for DVD’s at Yamada Denki. They have a brand new shipment of movies so I decided to get a few. I’m happy because I got some good movies this time and I’m going to enjoy those later.
I came home and watched another 2 episodes of Everyone loves Raymond. It’s really a good show and I’ll considering buying it when I go back to the States, but the top of the list is definitely the West Wing seasons 1-4. So that’s top priority. I’ve gotten into buying DVD’s now and I’m not sure why since they are set into regions and I’ll have to bring my region free player with me wherever I go in order to see it, but I think it’s cool that I have a choice for both Japanese and English. I like that.
I came home and then started downloading some things on the internet like programs that I will use for my classes in the next semester and I’m working on making a program that’s live on the internet too. I’m working on integrating everything in my master plan, but it’s more difficult than I thought because, well I just don’t know how to use most of the technology. Plus, I’ll be getting a new laptop soon and I’ll have to transfer all the stuff over to that computer, but I wanted to wait till the new Blu-Ray DVD players come out on the Vaios. I think that will happen in the winter season of this year, so that would be good timing, although probably more expensive. But I think I might even go without a laptop if my sister comes and takes this one, and I haven’t bought one yet. Since I’m buying it in Japan, I’m a bit worried about having a Japanese OS since my Japanese is poor. But I guess that would be a good learning experience all in itself, but I’d hate to run into problems with that.
