Another sluggish day
I was tired because I stayed up late again last night getting everything finished and drying my clothes. I got up and ready to go to work.
I had only 4 classes today, so it wasn’t that much work, but I wanted to get things finished before I went to work. Unfortunately though, that made me a bit late to leave my house. I was a bit worried that I wouldn’t be able to make it to work on time. This would have been the first day that I would have arrived late, but somehow I made the Tokyu Toyoko line of the train that I usually get. It was perfect timing and great.
The first class was with 8th grade ran. They just did their drama today, and it was the Sound of Music. They did a pretty good job and all I did was listen to them. So I didn’t really have much work to do since I’m not leading the class.
The second class with 8th grade kiku was in the gym, since it will be their only practice in the gym with me they needed to get it down. They did a pretty good job, but they need to practice their It’s a small world song. I was a bit shocked at how good they were too.
The 4th period class was 7th grade kiku. They need a little work on their readers’ theater. They haven’t memorized their lines yet, but it’s only a week away. I knew that they would be struggling since they were having trouble with it in the summer when I was starting to teach them.
The last class of the day was with 11th grade fuji. They understood my assignment better than Ran, which was a big surprise to me. They were able to do it and they enjoyed it. They didn’t give me that much trouble today and I think that it went fairly smooth. Some students didn’t fully understand, but it wasn’t anything too serious though.
The 6th period break was the time I spent fixing all the things for the CD’s. I managed to do all the editing on the school’s computer, which was great since I hacked into the server and figured out the password and was able to download the software needed to make the editing possible. I erased everything afterwards, but was happy that I accomplished it.
Then we had English club. We played a pretty interesting game that lasted the whole time. We took the titles for the movies that we did for the school festival and tried to make other words using the letters in the title. The winner had about 60 words from Batman Begins, a true story. We needed to make it longer to compete with Pirates of the Caribbean. But they did a great job with it.
I left school really early today to type all my entries and to work on my UC application. I know that it’s due tomorrow, so I have to get cracking on it to make sure that I get it in on time. I need to work on my personal statement right now and finish the application. I think that I will submit it tomorrow though, one day before the deadline, which is a bit of a danger since the server might crash, like it has in the past, but I’m sure that they have compensated for that and will be ok since I’m a day ahead living in Japan and I could wait a little longer and submit it in the morning.
