Extended Monday

I have five classes today because of an addition of two. I have to teach six senior students in a special class. It should be fun since I’m leading the class and I will be the only native teacher there. I feel like I have the ability to teach the way that I really want to. Hopefully my students will enjoy the class and it will motivate them to learn English more and study harder. I think over all that it will just be a relief from the other English classes that they have during their few weeks of hard core study time. I will teach them for two hours on the topic of Role-playing.

First period went by really quick. All I did was introduce myself and what we were going to do that day. Then I let them work on it.

Second Period was the same thing, but I did a little game of scrabble for the last 10 minutes. It really wasn’t enough time, but it was good.

Third period was with 9th grade yuri. At first they were quiet, but then got loud. I guess that they didn’t like the topic that much, but I wouldn’t blame them too much for that.

Fourth period was with 11th grade ran. I haven’t seen them for a long time, so I just let them work on the last part of the test and to turn in their papers to me. They have all finished really. I think that they are getting tired of it and I think that it would be better to shorten the time they take to work on the projects and to give their speeches or presentations earlier.

Fifth period was with 7th grade yuri. We work on the assignment about winter. CP read the letter written by her neighbor and she introduced that to the class. They did well on the multiple choice, but were having a bit of trouble with the other paper. That seems to be the theme of problems with all the classes.

I finished up the Speech Contest speeches and all the re-editing of them during sixth period. English club was canceled today because no one showed up. So I decided to leave early today.

I ate dinner at the curry restaurant at Yokohama station. It was pretty good. I came home and did a lot of downloading. I like to get the acoustic versions of a lot of songs, so I did that today. That was it and now it’s a little past midnight and I have to get up early, so I’m going to go to sleep now. Good Night.
