Today, I had one class since the second one was cancelled for some preparation work for their trip to the United States. We worked on Life more than money today. I couldn’t get my computer to work with the projector again, so I was pretty much winging it. I helped tie everything together for her, which is very good so she could understand the importance of learning language and communication and how it will benefit her in the future. It was very good and I think that she started to understand a lot better. She answered all the questions that I posed to her correctly and it was very efficient too. We sped right along and everything flowed very well. She did her homework that I assigned for her last week and I was a bit surprised that she did. I think that she really does enjoy the class. She didn’t bring it to school, but I do believe that she did it. I assigned her homework to come up with 5 whys that she wants. I’m not sure if I will have class next week or not, but it’s good for her to have it done. We covered the topics of the fishes, forms, school, life cycle – money cycle, how the subjects in school help her to apply her knowledge, a little health, a little science, streams and lakes. It was good.
At 6pm, we would go to Biffy, which is a restaurant that the English teachers go to annually to announce who will stay and who will leave. It is usually a big thing since the new year will start in two months. I found out that there will be two teachers leaving the school this year. One will be one of my close friends in the teacher’s office, but it was expected since she is pregnant and will give birth next month. The other came to me as a surprise since she started just when I started. She’s really incredibly beautiful, but the problem is that she’s too nice in class and the students in those classes that I teach with her get really rowdy. But she’s beautiful. I think she’s leaving because she just got married and the work she has to do with her husband is labor intensive and she needs to help with that. I gave all the teachers a souvenir from Korea. I bought them really nice pens and I think that they all appreciate it.
