Another day off

Due to some scheduling and because most of the students are on their school trips, I have a day off today. I would have only had to teach the 7th grade yuri class, but they have another special class to take and I don’t have to go to school to teach that one class. That really makes me happy since it would be a waste to get ready and go to school, which takes about 2.5 hours for only 50 minutes and then come back 2.5 hours. But I will have to do that next week. But at least I will only have to do that once.

I talked only a little with my family today. We did talk about important things though, but they were rubbing it in my face that they had pizza hut and I didn’t. We have it here in Japan, and the strange thing about it, was the last time I had pizza hut was in Korea. The time before that was like a year and a half ago when my neighbors ordered it and invited me over to have some. We were talking a lot about insurance. I think that insurance is a big scam that everyone plays into. Everyone puts too much money into it and they hope to never use it. I think that it would be better to have that money just set aside in investments and if you need it for an emergency, at that time it would be better and probably easier to just pull that money out. But everyone plays into it. I have been paying my insurance for Japan every month and it takes a large chunk out of my paycheck. Plus all the taxes have been adding up and I seem to be making less and less. It really is getting to the point of being unlivable.

I found out that Utada Hikaru released a few new songs. I saw the music video for Keep Tryin’ and I have reignited my love for her again. After the past few singles and the Exodus album, she was changing in a way that I didn’t really like. But the Keep Tryin’ video shows her in many forms and she’s just damn cute. I can’t wait for her to start touring again. It’s on my list of things to do before I die, to attend an Utada Hikaru concert in Japan. I thought it wouldn’t be possible since she released her English album when I moved to Japan. That was bad timing there, but she is back. Hopefully she will start touring and release her new album, which I will buy at full price, before I leave Japan. I had read reports that she will start in June, which is almost about the time I will be leaving. So I could check that off my list of things to do, after I do that. Did I mention that she’s damn cute? Well, she is and I love her… hehe. Too bad she’s married though.

I did do a lot of TV watching today too. But today I saw Spiderman 2 on DVD. I really like those types of movies. There is always a lesson to be learned from movies. I really like the message and the way that it is packaged in this movie. “With great power, comes great responsibility” is one of the best quotes that I’ve ever heard. It is important to admit that we have responsibility for ourselves and for our decisions especially when they affect other people. It’s a very inspiring movie about a hero to the masses. Everyone needs a hero to look up to and to be a role model. It seems more and more those types of people are hard to find in the real world. We have to find them and make them up in movies for us to have it. That’s a shame. People really ought to do the right thing all the time and not shut it out. If more people thought that way, the world would be a much more peaceful place to live. That’s just my opinion. I just know that I do my best to live that kind of life and I hope that the people around me follow suit. That’s part of the responsibility for being a teacher, I have my students that look to me and if I fail to be my best, I have let them down. So I realize how important it is to do the righteous thing.

I think that today would be a good day to get a hair cut. It has been getting long, but not too long, since I have short hair anyways. I just gave myself a little trim, just to make myself look a little cleaner. I really didn’t cut that much off, but it does look a little better. I want to try to grow out my hair a little more. I could do more with my hair if it is longer and I think it would just be different for a change of pace. I have had the same hairstyle since I was 16 years old. I think that I’m in the mood for change. Things have to be a little different for me.
