Getting into UCLA

Well, now that I’ve been admitted, the challenge is to get all the paperwork finished to declare that I want to be a student of UCLA. But it is a bit more challenging than I thought it would be. I never realized how much it would be to go to a university too, I just knew that it would be a lot. I never knew the specifics. I never really did the research that was required of me, but I got started with all that researching today. There are a bunch of hurdles that I have to go through that I need to take care of today.

I talked with my family in the morning after I had made breakfast for myself. I had a little omelet that didn’t turn out as well as I would have liked, but it was good enough to fill up my stomach. I enjoyed some TV while eating, which I learned once is not a very good idea. After talking with my family, then I started playing online games with them until they needed to go to bed around midnight.

I talked with another friend in the evening time after I had finished off the curry dinner and watched some TV. We were also talking about the costs of university and how much more she has to pay because she is an international student. I’m fighting for my tuition that I still am a California resident. I believe that it is wonderful to be living the California and don’t know why anyone would want to live anywhere else. You get the best education for the lowest cost anywhere in the nation. It’s by far the best bang for the buck in education you can get.

I started the process of declaring my intent to be student and things just piled on and all the reading that I had to do before I started any of the paper filling out. There is still so much more work ahead of me, but I’m serious about it and I need to get it all squared away. I need to find a way to make sure that things will work out for me. I’m behind on the 8-ball, but at least I took care of my housing information today and even paid for that. That is weird since I’m not officially a student yet, but I wanted to make sure that I have a place to live when I do get everything squared away. I think that’s one of the hardest things because the later you wait on that, the worse the situation will be. I filled out the little profile thing that asked what kind of room mate I wanted and what kind of living situation I wanted. I hope that I get into one of the newer resident buildings, but I really doubt that I will because in May and a month before the deadline, I’m sure more people have applied for it too. Hopefully there still is some space for me. I’ll have to get more things figured out like how to get my transcript sent from Grossmont to UCLA since I’m here and I need to sign papers for that. But I’m sure I’ll figure out a way.

I just hope things work out well for me and everything goes according to plan. I was really tense about it today since I have started to realize that everything is coming at me and at full force. It’s real now and I can’t stop thinking about it. I have to be serious about what’s coming in my future so this is how it goes.
