a rest day

Well the original plan fell through today. We were supposed to have a Red Shoes New Year party to start off the New Year, but the President was sick with the flu so we didn’t do anything today. So I was a bit confused today because I thought that it had moved to yesterday, but I guess they are two separate events with the same members. It was weird how everything worked out that way. I got an email from the chief today to let me know that it was cancelled. So I slept in until around noon.

Then I had to take care of a bunch of errands. I needed to put everything back to normal since my family has left Japan. I needed to pay rent, which was a week late. But I think that it was ok because the tenant knew that I had been busy for the first week of January taking my family around Tokyo. I also returned all the blankets and futons that I had borrowed for my family.

I also needed pick up my dry clean because this would be the last day I could pick it up before work started up again. I needed to have a suit ready before school started again. So I took care of that today too. I really needed to take care of laundry today too. I was backed up for about a week and a half, and I was really running out of clothes to wear. So it was a good thing that I didn’t go out today because there were many things at home that needed to be taken care of.

I spent the rest of the day working on the computer to get some programs uploaded from the old computer to the new computer. That actually didn’t take too long. The thing that I got interested in today was Japanese dramas. I was looking for a lot of torrents for some dramas that I had heard good things about. So I was looking around all the dramas for 2005, which there are a lot and I found a few that sounded interesting to me. I think I will get Dragon Zakura because it was about a teacher who pushes low-level students to get into Tokyo University, which is something that I’m actually aiming to do myself. I like teaching shows, partly because I’m a teacher myself. I was digging around drama.wiki and I found that one of my students is listed in a drama that showed in 2005. I thought that was cool.

I was hungry for most of the day because I didn’t eat much. It’s about 1am now, and I’m still hungry. I did eat today though, but it was the food that my mother made for me before she left. I don’t think that it would be a good idea for me to eat at this hour since I should be getting to bed soon. I need to get my sleeping schedule set up right again before school starts.
