Mom and Sister's birthday

I spent a day out in Shinjuku today. I left the house in the afternoon and it was bit warm. I read a little on the train to get to Yokohama station. But then it got busy and there simply wasn’t enough room to have a book out and read. I wanted to go to the H.I.S. main office, but it turns out that it was No1 Travel, which is a subsidiary of H.I.S. and they had many people who spoke different languages. I got helped with someone who spoke English, but she passed me off to someone who spoke to me in Japanese. I thought that it was a waste since I could have gone anywhere to get the same. I didn’t have to come all this way to do it. But since I was there, I was determined to get a ticket and the package that I wanted.

I was able to do it too. It took about 2 hours to work out all the details and take care of all the paperwork too. I was able to do it all and pay. I paid with all the money in my wallet and it turned out that I had the exact amount needed to pay for the trip. I think I only had about 500 yen left after I paid for everything. I think it is a little expensive to do it, but I think that it will be worth it once I get there. I’ll see only after the trip itself. But I’m happy that I’m going on a trip. I took a big hit in my savings though, which is something that I’m not so happy about. I don’t plan to spend so much money on this trip, but I do have a lot of souvenirs to buy for school peoples and stuff. I’ll see how much I end up spending. I would like to keep it to around 30,000 yen in total, which would make the total trip cost about 100,000 yen, or about $1000. I need to save for my spring vacation trip and my other trips during the rest of my stay in Japan.

After that I did a little shopping. Since I was in the Shinjuku area, I decided to walk around to see what’s there and what’s going on. I found the mouse that I want to get for my laptop, but decided not to get it. It was a bit more expensive than I thought and I was thinking if I should get it at all. I just spent a lot of money, more money than I thought I would have to spend to get the tickets to Korea. I didn’t want to use up all my money that fast. I need to find another way to get more so I don’t have to worry about all of this. I got to try out the mouse too. I thought that it was fairly average and there really isn’t anything special about it. It does work better than the other mice on display, which is a good thing. But other than that, I didn’t think too much about it. It is over $100, so I do need to keep that in mind. I think I’ll hold off on that till after I get back from Korea and see how much money I have left in my monthly budget to get one this month, or wait it out till next month.

I got dinner at Subway today. I like their sandwiches and I’m surprised that there aren’t more than what I’ve found. I mean there is only one that I know of in Yokohama and there are supposed to be more Subways than McDonalds around the world. I bet you didn’t know that little piece of trivia. It was good, I should have gotten a bigger set, but I was surprised I was able to eat a foot long and then still have room for more since I eat so little now, I didn’t think my body could handle it.
