Red Shoes Ohanami
I had fun today. I can’t believe that I woke up early for the hanami party, but still ended up there late. It simply didn’t make sense to me since I live the closest to the location. The plan was to meet up at 1pm at Totsuka station. I only live a 15 minute bus ride away, but I guess because I live the closest, I thought I could take my time. That was a mistake since I was late by about 20 minutes.
We were supposed to bring some food for ourselves and for others. I had to buy a bento for myself and I bought a few other things that I could share with a few other people. But when we found a spot at Totsuka, next to the river and under all the sakura trees, we didn’t end up eating that much. I had finished my bento. TUda made some food for everyone and everyone had a bit of her food. APca had bought some shumai at the station and we all shared that too. Actually no one touched the things that I brought or from a few other people too because everyone got full really quickly. At first it was a bit cold because of the breeze. So after we finished eating, we decided to pack up and go to the other side of the river to sit. I got some pretty good pictures of the cherry blossoms since they will only last for one week; I thought I should get it while they last.
On the other side of the river, we just sat there and had a bit of what APca brought from Nagoya. He had gotten up early to take a regular train to Totsuka today. He came for only the hanami. It took him about 6 hours to get there. He’s a trooper! We had pretty good conversations on this side. I was mostly talking to TUda because of proximity. The other people were a bit far, so I didn’t get a chance to talk to them a lot. But it was good.
Around 5pm, we left the spot and went to the West exit of Totsuka. First we went to Mister Donut, but it was full, so we went to McDonalds and waited for KHma to come. He just got off of work and wanted to meet us. We stayed there for only a few minutes and then we left. We were looking for something to do, but to our amazement there aren’t many things to do at Totsuka station. KHma was pushing us to go to Higashi-Totsuka to hang out. So we did. TUda had to go back home, so it was just down to 5 people.
At first we went to the building where we went to when JGz came to Yokohama. We wanted to play some billiards, but it was full so we didn’t get a chance to play. We would have even liked to play ping pong, but it was busy too. So we just walked around some more. We went into a little place where they were selling games because the other guys wanted to check it out. We stayed there for a little longer than I expected us to stay. Then we decided to get out of the cold and hung out at Wendy’s. I got a frosty shake and the other people also got something cold except for KHma. He had chili, but it was weird since everyone was complaining that it was cold, but everyone got something cold to eat. We stayed there for like an hour or so just talking and having fun. One of the ladies that works there, seemed mad while putting away the chairs, but we all thought that it was her normal behavior, but she really seemed mad. We still had a lot of the food left, so we played Paper, Rocks, Scissors to see who would take what. I ended up getting some potato chips and something else. Then we all left go to home.
I went on the train with TTya and on the train or on the way off the train, he lost his ticket. So he had to pay twice for the ride. That sucks for him but he didn’t care that much. I got home and quickly got ready to watch Lord of the Rings: Return of the King which was on Fuji TV tonight. It was the conclusion, which is actually my favorite part of the whole series. So I didn’t want to miss it. Even though it was all in Japanese, it was still damn good. I’m glad that I got to catch it. Then I came here to type this. I didn’t even eat dinner tonight and that could explain why I’m hungry now. But it’s too late to eat, so I will have to get up early and have an early breakfast. I need to get my sleeping patterns back in order since I will be going to Hakone with the school in a few days. I will have to be awake for that. So good night and I didn’t do anything for April Fools… that’s surprising.
